What is a Home Care Package (HCP)?

A Home Care Package (HCP) is a government-funded program in Australia that provides support to seniors who wish to remain living independently in their own homes. It offers a range of services tailored to the individual needs of the recipient, including personal care, domestic assistance, and social support. The program is designed to help seniors maintain their quality of life and stay connected with their communities while receiving the necessary care and assistance.

What Tech Support Services can be provided under a HCP?

  • One on One Tech Support Sessions
  • Training to build independence and digital inclusion
  • Assistance with online services (Government, Health, Banking)
  • Support to increase community connection and reduce isolation.

What cannot be funded under a HCP?

  • Purchase of devices (smartphones, computers, tablets, printers)
  • General household expenses not related to care needs
  • Entertainment Subscriptions (Disney+, Kayo, Netflix etc.)
  • Services already covered by other government programs
  • Services that do not directly support the recipient’s care needs
  • Services that are not related to the recipient’s health or wellbeing

If you are self-managed or provider/plan-managed under a Home Care Package (HCP), you can use your package funds to pay for tech support services, as long as they align with your care goals and plan. If you are using the NDIS, payment is also possible when you are self-managed or plan-managed, however services cannot be paid through agency-managed NDIS funding.

By choosing Nathan’s Tech Support, HCP clients can learn at their own pace with patient and supportive tuition, encouraging them to live more independently and confidently in the digital age.
